Jared Agano is a seasoned fisheries and blue economy expert with over 28 years of experience in policy, governance, aquaculture, and capacity building. He holds a B.Sc. in Fisheries from Moi University, an M.Sc. in Environmental Science from Maseno University, and an M.A. in International Studies from the University of Nairobi, alongside a certificate in National Security Studies from the National Defence College.
Jared has served in various capacities across Kenya, including District Fisheries Officer roles in Siaya, Bondo, Lake Turkana, and Busia, and currently works with the Kenya Fisheries Service. His achievements include establishing fish hatcheries and feed manufacturing plants, developing fisheries regulations and management plans, and strengthening Beach Management Units in Lake Turkana.
He has published research on Nile Tilapia growth in earthen ponds and continues to contribute to sustainable fisheries development. His other courses undertaken include; Inclusive Financing of Agriculture; Coastal fisheries resource management; Participatory Integrated Community Development (PICD) and his current assignments and Tasks are Spearheading the development of Monitoring, Control and Surveillance Regulations,2025; sustainable fisheries utilization, management and conservation;
