Building capacity for food system actors through a combination of structured and “see and believe” approaches.

At the heart of sustainable development lies the ability of individuals, communities, and institutions to adapt, innovate, and lead. Rootooba’s capacity building initiatives equip food system actors—from smallholder farmers and cooperatives to policymakers and agribusinesses—with the skills, knowledge, and tools they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Our work ensures that transformation is not imposed from the outside, but driven from within—rooted in local expertise, amplified by strategic partnerships, and sustained through continuous learning. To accomplish this, we:

  • Provide expertise in the development of policies and legislative tools that support food safety and nutrition interventions
  • Developing tailored training content for actors across the food value chain
  • Conduct producer clinics to diagnose plant and animal diseases and pests, while also offering integrated nutrition and health solutions for soil, crops, and livestock.
